Christmas Qee: Rudi

This is a Christmas Qee I designed back in the day. The little terror goes by the name of Rudi (Rudolf). Though he means well, he's a mischievous bear who can't help but steal your presents from under the christmas tree. A lot of love went into this character so I'm not so sure as to why he's as naughty as he is. Maybe one day Santa will give him a break.

About Qee:

Qee, pronounced as ‘key’ was introduced in 2002 causing hype amongst toy collectors worldwide but soon after caught the attention and imagination of art lovers, graphic designers and the world’s youth alike. It has since then taken the world by storm. They are used as both a fashionable accessory (keychain) and/or designer/art toy collectable. Toy2R (Holdings) Company Ltd. provides D.I.Y (Do It Yourself) Qees for aspiring designers/artists who wish to use Qee as a 3D canvas to express their own original work as, Qee allows for self-expression and creativity through a unique format.

WB Nitro Umbrella (June 09)

In January 2009 I joined Turner Entertainment Network Asia to work with a newly launched movie channel known as WB. At the moment WB is being broadcasted in India and Pakistan where we are ranked as one of the top entertainment channels alongside HBO. These are my very first promos I made for a franchise now sponsored by Yamaha called WB Nitro. The duration of each promo is 30 seconds where the first 14 seconds (known as the montage) consist of four movies being played in the franchise during that particular month. The last 16 seconds are used to promote the movie being played that week or the week after.

Charles Hamilton "Brooklyn Girls" Featuring Toy2R Products

In 2008 I worked for a company named Toy2R (Holdings) Company Ltd. This is a Hong Kong based company created out of an obsession for designer/art toys and collectibles and the first to explore the potential of the designer/art toy movement. While marketing their products on an international basis to promote innovation and creativity we had heard that there was a new artist to hit the streets of the hip hop scene and he had used our products in his hit single/music video "Brooklyn Girls."

This artist went by the name of Charles Hamilton. I have to say when I first heard/saw his music video the first thing that came to mind was "Cot Daaaamn!" I couldn't believe how amazing his style/flow was and how this particular song brought back some crazy memories and feelings from various points in my life. Anyway, this is by far one of my favorite hip hop songs to date and for those of you who haven't heard it.... ENJOY!

Raised in Harlem, New York, Charles Hamilton was exposed to music at an early age. Most of his music is sample-driven. Though he catches quite a bit of heat for his sampling, he insists it is for the good of music: His use of sampling music is unique which is always looked at on his mixtapes.

"When I sample, I'm not just doing it to sound good. I'm trying to tell a story. To convey an emotion. If I sampled it, there is a reason I sampled it. I believe that music is based on moments, and that there are some moments that people may have missed back in the day. They may have even missed it a year ago. When I sample, I'm giving the artist their respect, while simultaneously creating something new."

Iori Yagami

Iori is the heir of the Yagami clan, who wield pyrokinetic powers. He is a violent and sadistic person who suffers from trauma due to the past of his clan. In ancient times, the Yagami clan was known as the Yasakani; at that time, they were allied with the Kusanagi clan. In 1200 CE, with the help of the Yata clan (now known as the house of Kagura), keepers of the sacred mirror, the two clans sealed Orochi (an ancient spirit whos character is another interpretation of the mythical eight headed serpent, Yamata no Orochi) away, placing him in an eternal slumber. They accomplished this by giving Orochi eight cups of wine and when he was drunk, he was weakened with the sword of Kusanagi and sealed by the Yasakani's Magatama, their mystical and spiritual flame. Orochi was then imprisoned within the sacred mirror of the Yata. By uniting the power of both clans and using the crimson flames, the two blood lines managed to seal away Orochi's powers. Assigning the Clan of the Yata to watch over the seal, both clans retired to their respective villages.

As time passed, the Yasakani grew tired of living in the shadow of the Kusanagi. They fell to the temptation of the power of Orochi and made a blood pact with him. This gave them greater powers, but in return, they and their descendants were forever cursed causing each heir to die young and each mother to die in childbirth. They renamed their clan the Yagami and set out to destroy the Kusanagi with their new flames (a bluish tint; more purple in colour), the Magatama no Orochi. The Kusanagi declared war on the Yagami in response for this treachery, a war that has killed many clan members on both sides - much to the glee of the Orochi clan.

When Iori loses control of his Orochi blood, he enters a stage called Riot of the Blood AKA Orochi Iori. He becomes both stronger and faster, but can still be defeated. After the defeat of Orochi, it seems Iori has his blood under control.
